Outside of being a shopping writer, my favorite pastime is hosting. I love bringing all of my friends and family together around Christmas time to play games, listen to holiday music, and, of course, feast on a divine meal made by yours truly. Every year, I come up with an elaborate theme for people to dress up for; this year's dinner theme is “snowed in,” so everyone will be coming dressed in all white.
As the host, it’s only right that I lead by example and pull out the chicest outfit in my closet. But unfortunately, I didn’t take my wardrobe into account when coming up with this year’s theme, because I had nothing to wear — and the party is next week. I decided to tap into my shopping expertise and take to Amazon to find the perfect dress, which turned out to be Merokeety’s Button-Front Sweater Dress for just $37.
Available in sizes S to XL, the posh sweater dress comes in 13 colors, such as white, navy, green, pink, and red, and has contrasting tipping and functional buttons down the top half. It has a body-hugging fit that falls straight past the hip, landing around the mid-calf. It also features a collared polo neckline, long sleeves, and a stretchy ribbed fabric.
Merokeety’s Button-Front Sweater Dress
It was love at first sight when I saw the Merokeety sweater dress, and despite only having a few reviews (it just launched in September per the retailer), I trusted my intuition. It also helped that I’ve purchased other things from the brand that I’ve loved. Luckily, the dress turned out to be everything I thought it would be. Not only does it fit me like a glove, but the fabric is super soft on the skin and thick enough to keep me warm when I’m outside. It did come with some deep-set wrinkles, but after a quick wash and leaving it to air dry, the wrinkles smoothed out effortlessly. It also didn’t have any pilling or shrinkage after washing.
I also love how stretchy the Merokeety sweater dress is so that I’ll still be comfortable wearing it after dinner and dessert. I was a bit nervous that it would be see-through in a lighter shade, but even in direct lighting, I can’t see my undergarments through the dress. Plus, it doesn’t require much thought when it comes to styling since it’s so flattering on its own. I plan on pairing it with a pointed-toe slingback kitten heel for my holiday dinner, but it would also pair nicely with a wool trench coat and a close-fitted knee-high boot.
