Along with Ryan Dahle, John Kerns, and Kurt Dahle, Todd Kerns has been a member of the rock band The Age of Electric. The band’s discography consists of various albums, extended plays, and songs such as The Latest Plague, The Age of Electric, Make a Pest a Pet, The Ugly EP, The Pretty EP, Electric, Aphrodisiac Smile, Ugly, Untitled, Keys, Enya, Remote Control, I Don’t Mind, and Don’t Wreck It.
On February 25, 1997, The Age of Electric released its album titled Make a Pest a Pet via Mercury Records and its tracklist consists of Remote Control, Cranky, Blow Up, I Don’t Mind, Unity or Grenadine, My Mistake, Nothing Happens, Don’t Wreck It, You Complain, Mad at the World, and Exist To Resist. It peaked at #78 on the Canadian Albums Chart as well as was certified ‘Gold’ in Canada in 1998.
Todd Kerns provided background vocals for Matthew Good Band‘s album Underdogs (on the songs Rico and Everything Is Automatic) in 1997 and album Beautiful Midnight (on the songs Hello Time Bomb and Born to Kill) in 1999.
Along with Bif Naked, Trevor Hurst, Matthew Good, Craig Northey, Neil Osborne, Ashwin Sood, and Brain Minato, Todd Kerns recorded a cover of Prince‘s 1999 for 99.3 CFOX’s Year of the Fox compilation at Bryan Adams‘ Warehouse Studio in 1999.
He formed the band Static in Stereo alongside his brothers and drummer Scott McCargar and the band released a self-titled album in 2002.
Static in Stereo was nominated for a Canadian Radio Music Award in the “Best New Group” category in 2002.
Todd Kerns has launched his own clothing line called “Dammitwear / Anti-Star designs”.
His first acoustic record Borrowing Trouble was released in 2014 and the same year, he was voted the ‘2014 Bassist of the Year’ in the 4th Annual Loudwire Music Awards by Loudwire readers.
